Hosting

This website and platform are hosted on servers operated by the University of Rostock, Germany.

When you access the website or platform, the hosting infrastructure automatically processes technical data required to deliver the service, including:

Analytics (Tinylytics)

This website uses Tinylytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service.

To access parts of the PelAtlas platform, users can sign in using third-party authentication providers.

Google Sign-In

If you choose to sign in with Google, your authentication is handled by Google LLC.

During this process, PelAtlas may receive limited profile information from Google, such as:

  • name
  • email address
  • profile identifier

This information is used solely to create and manage your user account within PelAtlas.

Microsoft Sign-In

If you choose to sign in with a personal Microsoft account or a Microsoft work or school account, your authentication is handled by Microsoft.

PelAtlas processes only the profile data required to authenticate and maintain your account:

  • name
  • email address
  • profile identifier

The email address is also used to apply the current access restrictions and to attach Google and Microsoft sign-in methods to the same PelAtlas account when they provide the same normalized address.

PelAtlas does not receive your Google or Microsoft password and does not have access to your credentials with these providers.

Account Data

When you use PelAtlas, we store information necessary to operate the platform, such as:

  • your user account information
  • actions performed within the platform, such as annotations and decisions

This data is required to provide the service and ensure traceability of scientific workflows.

Contact via Email

If you contact us via email, the information you provide, such as your email address and message content, will be used solely to process your request.

This data will not be shared with third parties and will be deleted when it is no longer required.
